Dining Room Shelving Inspiration

For months now I have been trying to decide what I am going to do above my new (newish now it's been a few months) dining room built ins.  I thought I'd share some of my ideas.  Maybe you can help me decide.  Here's what I have now,

It's way too small and not deep enough.  I built the shelf years ago and it had to be shallow because of the weird stairs that were there.  Now with the built in's I can have something deeper.  I really just want it for display.  I love my white dishes and hope to collect more pretties.

Plate rack

I love the look but it limits what I can display.

Open shelving

great for displaying all kinds of fun things not just plates.

Cabinets with glass doors

with glass doors there's less dust to deal with but it's a little formal.

I like the quirkiness of this cabinet but it may be a bit much.

I am leaning towards open shelves or an open cabinet shelf.  I'd love to hear what you think?
