Oak Buffet Makeover

So today I thought I'd share a quick before and after of a recent custom piece I painted.  I'm leaving for the Haven blogging conference in a couple days so there's no time for one of my normal long winded blog posts. Don't worry I'm sure I'll have lots to say about the conference.  Three hundred DIY & Decor bloggers in one hotel, should be crazy and amazing.  So many of my favorite bloggers will be there.  I'm super excited & mildly terrified. I'm really not much of a talker (unless it's about DIY and Decor) but somehow I think I'll be okay.  These are some of my people.

The Oak buffet had been my clients grandmothers so it had sentimental value and she wanted to keep it.  She just wanted to update it and make it more her style.

She showed me a couple inspiration pictures and I knew just what color she would love, Duck Egg Blue (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint).   The inspiration pieces were pretty heavily distressed and so I decided to do some heavy sanding and add some dark wax as well as clear.

She loved it!
