Kitchen Island Update

A few months ago I stumbled on some wood brackets at the Restore.  Funny thing is they were wrapped together with masking tape and on the masking tape in black sharpie it read : three brackets for three bucks imagine the possibilities.  I could imagine tons of possibilities and so I bought them.  Isn't it odd that someone wrote that?  It made me laugh.  When I saw them I immediately thought of my kitchen island.  I built my kitchen island back in December out of a salvaged door.  It has worked out great for us but I knew I wanted to add some brackets eventually to finish it off.

The brackets are pretty simple and turned out to be the perfect size for the tiny overhang of the counter.  I love it when that happens.

The after.  Just a little change but I think it adds a lot of character.  Have a great week!

Haha! I wonder who wrote it....an old owner, or someone at the store? The look great!

What an exciting find! Your blue island is awesome. As I write this my island is in the morphing process. I had leftover paint from a furniture project and decided Sunday was THE DAY to finally paint my island. Well that wasn't planned (on the list for months/years) but not planned for last weekend! Oh well, nothing like being spontaneous! I'll post the dresser and the island sometime in the near future.
