I whipped up a quick project yesterday and finished it up just now.
I started with a cool frame I picked up while thrifting. Nice & chunky. and gold.
I cut a piece of luan down to 24" x 30".
I spray glued on cork squares and staggered the seams.
Then covered with some scrap lining fabric and batting. Spray gluing in between layers.
I covered it with an old coffee sack. I had used part of it for something else so it was too small to cover the board the direction I wanted it to go in one piece. I had to get creative. I used the part I cut off for the side which created pockets to tuck things in. I used upholstery tacks to hold it down in a few places.
I painted the frame with a minty green color then distressed to reveal some of the gold.
and then used stain to glaze.
here it is with stuff in the pockets, I couldn't find anything cool cause I was hurrying.
I love her!
(here I am trying to blur the edges of the photo so you can't see my out of control yard. Did I fool ya?)
