Recliner - a Before and After

We have had this 1990’s mauve recliner, a hand-me-down from the in-laws for over 11 years .  Mauve never matching anything in our living room.  I cannot believe I have lived with mauve this long.  My accent wall used to be terracotta orange and I still rocked a mauve chair.  My problem is I am cheap and the thing is in great shape.  So every time I went to purchase a slipcover for it costing around $100, ( I have had them in the cart many times) I would tell myself you can make a slip cover, so I put it back. Besides the ones you can buy are stretchy and clingy, not what I wanted. You know how lazy boy recliners have the cushions attached to them?  I didn't want it to look like that.  I am loving all the drop cloth slip covers out there in blog land especially with the pleated skirts so this was the look I was going for.  I have been reading blogs for over a year now and let me tell you, it has changed my life.  I have found my people.  People who can talk about decorating, creating, organizing, painting and repainting all day long.  You have INSPIRED me, made me up my game.  So now I made that darn slipcover.

I will post a tutorial this week I just dont have the energy to type all that up today after yesterday.  It will prove that this is the same chair.  It doesn't look like it does it?
